Tis the Season!

It has been so cold in my apartment i have taken to straddling my space heater to keep my jingle boys warm. Aye! This holiday season has seen many strange things happening around this precious planet of ours. For instance we have the Fukushima disaster that happened 2 years ago and is still going strong. Reports are... wait... there haven't been any reports this season on Fukushima. OH well... i guess that problem went away. Well what about China's pollution? You know, where the average day in a Chinese city peaks at over 150 ppm. One journalist actually had the gall to write that the pollution was a good thing. It was bringing everyone together in humor. I don't know where this guy is hanging out but no one's laughing here in Guangzhou. Then you have that darn fracking issue and the Keystone pipeline haunting America. What the Frack! Now that fracking has become the norm in most of the States I suppose they can now just ignore it like everything else! Drink Coke!  On the upside to all this marijuana is now legal everywhere but China and North Korea.  Ahhhh but I wax poetic. What a year this has been. Drones and war... Drones and crops.. Drones and more drones... China is cracking heads in Kashgar and the NSA is watching Americans crack each others heads.  So much negativity going on spliced with cute puppy, cat, lion, monkey.... (fill in your animal here) videos for that warm and fuzzy feeling. Sometimes I think we really have lost touch with the things that make us human.  Close the computer and shut off the cell phone and have a close encounter with another human. Giving those around you affection and compassion, understanding and tolerance, kindness and generosity especially to those less fortunate than yourselves (there are a lot of them folks out there). I think shut the world off for a while and focus on what is around you, and then I think ... NAH! because I am totally addicted to what everyone else is doing. No seriously! Once in a while I will post and hope someone notices me. It's a hoot and so strange. So this is what I have for you guys today. I have been doing some experiments with pinhole and coming up with some interesting results. This is the first time I have really delved into the world of pinhole imagery. It is very different from what I am used to It's good the shake things up once in a while. My first pinholes where problematic where I had to cut the film to make it fit... That didn't work so well. So I ditched that idea and went to a larger container. I found the perfect container that takes 4x5 film. My only issue with it was a light leak coming from the top... I fixed that by making thick fabric gaskets to help seal the top and prevent light leaks.  This worked well but the shutter mechanism ... my fingers were less than accurate. I made another one with an old Schneider 135 lens that took a cable release. This helped to keep the camera from moving when i took the picture.  I took the front element off and replaced it with a very teeny tiny pin hole. and now I have gotten a very interesting result. So! here are the latest images after 15-18 negatives... See what you think...

This is the camera with the Schneider lens on it... very cool...
